What will be your reason for joining the CFMEU WA?
Better pay. Better conditions. Better benefits. You’re far better off being a member of the CFMEU WA.
Becoming a CFMEU member is a top decision. The Union has worked hard and negotiated a range of benefits for all financial members.
As a CFMEU member, you have access to an incredible range of free and discounted services, and deals for less than the cost of a weekly Lotto ticket. This is over and above the 36-hour week, better job security, paid sick leave, a safer workplace, proper site amenities and all the other benefits we’ve fought for and won over the years.
You work hard and deserve to be rewarded, but trade unionism isn’t just about getting stuff for free. This is about looking after each other and our families too.
It’s about protecting our wages and conditions and helping out mates who need a hand. When you join the CFMEU, you'll have thousands of building and construction mates who will stand behind you when you need a hand.
On top of all these benefits listed below you also have access to a team of experienced Union organisers for advice and help on any issues.

Low Cost Home Loans and More:
From Super Member Home Loans to Members Equity Bank
Members Equity (ME) Bank was created in 1999; however its origins date back to September 1994 when National Mutual launched Super Member Home Loans (SMHL).
Designed to offer low cost home loans for Australian workers, The Australian Council of trade Unions (ACTU) backed initiative quickly became an important benefit for the members of participating superannuation funds and affiliated trade unions.
Many years on, the SMHL programme offered by Members Equity Bank, is still going strong and providing members with billions of dollars in low cost home loans.
The success of this no nonsense approach to borrowing – together with an increasing demand from members for other banking services – highlighted the need for a new type of bank, where all products were simple, straight forward and offered value for money to working Australians.
In July 2001, it all became a reality when Members Equity Bank received its banking licence from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.
Members Equity Bank is now owned by a number of industry superannuation funds. Profits earned provide a return on investment for these funds and their members. Our home loan programme raises funds by issuing bonds and mortgage backed securities that are rated AAA or equivalent by Standard and Poor's and Moody's Investors Service.
Why ME?
Members Equity Bank has been specifically created to provide everyday Australians with innovative, low cost banking services. As a result – we are 100% committed to keeping banking costs low whilst delivering exceptional customer service.

Our products are simple and easy to understand, and we never hide behind gimmicks. We are always happy to hear from you and to help you reach your financial goals. Most importantly we place value for money and customer services as the most important things we can deliver to you.
